goal & impact

Climate Science Alliance (CSA), a climate adaptation organization based in San Diego, entered its tenth year while transitioning from a fiscally sponsored cohort to an independent nonprofit. This milestone created the need for a cohesive, accessible brand identity that more accurately reflected CSA’s mission, audiences, and growing professional scope.

The rebrand provided CSA with its first-ever cohesive, accessible brand identity, significantly elevating its professional presence as an independent nonprofit. The new visual system improved clarity in external communications, better reflected the organization’s mission, and equipped internal teams with tools to create consistent, on-brand materials with confidence.

my role

As the Digital Designer (a full-time CSA staff member), I led and executed a comprehensive brand overhaul to develop a refined brand strategy and visual identity. Working closely with the Executive Director and Director of Communications, I led creative pitches, review sessions, and revision cycles to incorporate leadership and stakeholder feedback. My final deliverables included a foundational Brand Guide, updated branded collateral, brand templates, and a curated photo library. Following the new branding launch, I reviewed all newly created marketing and communications materials from a variety of staff members across multiple departments to ensure alignment with brand guidelines and accessibility standards, helping maintain brand consistency across the organization.
